WRITTEN TRANSLATION
Individual quotes are prepared having had sight of source documents to be translated. A minimum charge of £100 + VAT will be applied to small jobs.
Several different aspects affect prices and lead times, as detailed below.
Content
Complexity of document (e.g. a contract for an individual sales representative vs an international joint venture agreement for the supply of utilities)
Highly technical (e.g. a case involving a chemical plant)
Any corrections/rewriting required where original is badly drafted
Specific client requirements e.g. cross-references or nomenclatures
File formats
Text formatting (chapters, underlining, bold, pagination)
Texts that are difficult to read (e.g. badly scanned PDF files that are not aligned, smudged, obscured)
Full re-keying if provided in non-editable/locked PDF format/physical documents
Handwritten text (e.g. wills)
Advanced text formatting (tables, diagrams, charts), and PowerPoint or Excel files
To save on budget, where possible plain text format should be supplied. If this is not possible, clients may also choose to take delivery of the translation in unformatted form or with basic formatting, and to have further formatting work performed by their own in-house services.
Rush jobs
Where rush jobs are possible/feasible, a supplement will be charged for unsocial hours and weekends.
Complementary services
Rewriting
Glossary creation
Notarization/certification, courier, postage
Proofreading: completed documents are delivered proofread (several times). A further external proofread may be requested/advised, charged at cost.
INTERPRETING
Rates offered per day and per half day, plus travel, meals and accommodation expenses. Portable microphone/transmitter sets are available at a small additional charge, to lessen disruption where small numbers of listeners are involved.
CONSULTANCY
Proposals will be prepared for each individual assignment.
